Monsoon Walk at Karnala

Nestled along the foothills of the Western Ghats, Karnala Bird Sanctuary transforms into something extraordinary during the monsoon. The moist deciduous forest deepens in colour, the canopy closes overhead, and the air fills with birdsong, rain, and the quiet hum of a forest fully alive.

Our guided Monsoon Walk invites you to slow down and truly pay attention. With a trained Naturalist Explorers naturalist leading the way, you'll learn to read the landscape, spotting butterflies sheltering under broad leaves, identifying insects that only emerge in the rain, and understanding how every creature, however small, holds its place in the web of life.

This walk stays entirely within the forest trail and does not include a trek to the fort, allowing us to focus entirely on the biodiversity and ecology of the sanctuary at its most vibrant.
