The Kolkata Heritage Hunt is a full-day, citywide treasure hunt that turns the whole of Kolkata into your playing field. On Sunday, 20 December 2026, teams will decode cryptic, research-rich clues — curated by celebrated heritage chronicler Deepanjan Ghosh of the wildly popular YouTube series Half Pant History — and chase them across the city by car, cab, metro, tram, or on foot.

It's not a quiz and it's not a guided walk; it's the most rewarding game of curiosity in town, presented by Immersive Trails in collaboration with That Red House.

If you've been hunting for the most original things to do in Kolkata this December, this is it. Expect forgotten plaques, hidden façades, buried street stories, and the kind of heritage detail most people walk straight past — all stitched into a day-long race against the clock.

How the Heritage Hunt Works

Teams of 1 to 4 people register online and report to That Red House, the much-loved heritage-home café in South Kolkata, for check-in and a single shared briefing.

At flag-off, each team receives its first clue and the entire city opens up. Travel however you like, solve in whatever order the clues allow, collect proof at each heritage marker, and race back to the café before the cut-off.

Deepanjan then takes the stage for the grand reveal — the real stories behind every clue — followed by the prize ceremony.

The hunt is built for sharp eyes, lateral thinkers, and anyone who loves Calcutta's history. Clever route-planning counts as much as clever solving.
