About
More than a royal residence, the Red Fort was the heart of Shahjahanabad.
This walk explores the Red Fort as a carefully designed imperial world where architecture, ceremony, water and power came together to express the grandeur of the Mughal Empire.
Participants journey through its surviving palaces, audience halls and gardens to understand how the emperor's authority was physically staged and experienced within the fort.
From the public spectacle of the Diwan-i-Aam to the private elegance of the imperial apartments, every space reveals a different aspect of Mughal courtly life.
The experience also explores the transformation of the fort across centuries, from the glory of Shah Jahan's reign to the changing political fortunes of the Mughal Empire and the events that reshaped its identity in the colonial period.
Through architecture and storytelling, the walk reveals the Red Fort not simply as a monument, but as the centre of an imperial vision that once shaped the life and identity of an entire city.
