About
Shimla's surrounding areas were popular for weekend picnics during the British Raj due to their untouched forests and tranquil environment. Accessible mainly via walking trails, many of these routes are still used by local villagers.
This 3-4 hour nature walk circles a hill, passes near the President's Retreat, and descends to the Sipi Fairground, which hosts an annual fair in May. The Shali peak is visible across the valley, and the slopes feature houses, villages, orchards, and fields.
The walk concludes at a primary school by the roadside, serving as a meeting point for the drivers.
