Esplanade Unlimited - Photo Walk

Esplanade is where Kolkata seems to gather, move, pause and collide.

From the ever-lively bus terminus to the maddening chaos of the markets under Oberoi Grand and in front of the SS Hogg Market, the incessant flow of shoppers at Lindsay Street, the bustling Dorina crossing and, every now and then, the slow passage of trams.

This part of the city offers an ever-changing theatre of everyday life.

For photographers interested in human documentary and the city life, Esplanade is a place where stories unfold in plain sight. Commuters rushing, shopkeepers at work, travelers with their bags, fleeting interactions between strangers and quiet moments hidden amidst the chaos — every turn offers the unexpected.

On this photo walk, we will explore these different layers of the locality, moving through its streets, markets, transport hubs and crossings while looking for moments, gestures, light and compositions that reveal the character of the neighborhood.

And of course, no Kolkata walk is complete without something to gorge on at the end of the walk. We offer a special treat from or side!

• Primarily aimed at photographers and photography enthusiasts. Non-photographers are welcome to join for the experience.

• Any form of photography device (Camera/Smartphone) is welcome.

• Do carry tripod or any other form of stand for long exposure photography.
